Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty stole the spotlight the Independence Day, but for all the wrong reasons.

Shilpa was seen in a beautiful ethnic  attire on India’s National Day but the colour selection of her dress brought her under the scrutiny  of social media users.

The 50-year-old actress wore a simple yet elegant white open-front kurta and shalwar suit, with a green dupatta featuring subtle patterns and matching flats.

She completed her look with accessories like black sunglasses, delicate bracelets, rings and a white handbag while her soft and natural makeup gave her a graceful and fresh vibe.

Symbolizing the occasion, the Fareb actor also pinned a badge of the Indian flag on her Kurta.

But what caught the attention was the colour combination of her dress.

In a video shared by a paparazzi account, the actress, accompanied by her mother and sister, was seen entering a building.

Netizens rushed to the comment section to point out that the Dhadkan actress’s dress did not represent Indian tricolour flag, commonly called Tiranga.
Instead, it depicted the Pakistani flag, which comprises only green and white colour.

A comment read, “Orange dupatta orhna tha, ap ka designer Pakistani to nahi?” Another said, “Orange color is missing… Independence look nahi hay, ye to kisi or mulk ki look hai.”

Many social media criticized and accused her of celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day (August 14) instead of Independence Day of India (August 15).
