Film director Homi Adajania finally put an end to the rumours and speculations, confirming Kriti Sanon as the female lead in Cocktail 2.

The director posted a photo of the lead actress on his Instagram stories, hiding her face with a “work in progress” sticker. However, he did not leave fans guessing for long and revealed all by tagging Kriti’s account along with hashtags.

He further shared that the shooting would begin soon in Italy, featuring a new leading trio.

The cast of this romantic drama includes Shahid Kapoor in the male lead and Rashmika Mandanna in a key role.

The film marks Homi’s comeback as a director and is bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, with a script written by Luv Ranjan.

Reportedly, filming is set to begin in August, as the 35-year-old actress has just wrapped Tere Ishk Mein, and the production team is eyeing a theatrical release in the second half of 2026.

While plot details are currently being kept under wraps, this marks the second collaboration between Kriti and Shahid after their 2024 romantic science-fiction hit, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Ulja Jiya.

Cocktail 2 is a sequel to the 2012 film Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, portraying a modern-day love triangle.

The original film was a commercial success, crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark worldwide and ranking among the highest-grossing films of that year.
