Dubai is the most popular tourist destination in the world, from its unique structures and landscapes to higher standards of living and safety, it attracts tourists from all around the world.

Apart from just visiting the city, those who want to relocate here without changing their employment status will also find opportunities here.

The authorities have introduced the Dubai Digital Nomad Visa, which allows remote workers to work and reside here for a year while working for a company outside the UAE.

Sponsorship is not required for this visa, which is also known as the Dubai Virtual Working Program, but applicant will have to meet eligibility criteria.

Eligibility requirements:

To apply for this visa, a person must either be an employee of a company registered outside of the UAE, or self-employed with a registered business.

Proof of working for a company outside of UAE For at least one year, along with a minimum monthly income of AED 12,856 is also required.

Requirements and processing:

-Proof of clean criminal record from home country

-Passport size photo

-Proof of employment

-Pay slips or 3-month bank statement

-Proof of accommodation

After submitting all required documents, one can apply online through the GDRFA-Dubai or the Virtual Working Program website.

Once arrived in Dubai, the applicant must complete biometrics, a medical fitness test, an Emirates ID application and a residency visa stamping.

This visa normally gets approved in 5-14 working days, but it may take longer in some cases.
