Mithun Chakraborty finally broke his silence following his upcoming film controversy.

During a exclusive chat, the veteran star told the publisher that it's hard to accept, but showing reality immediately draws political controversy.

On Wednesday, August 20, in an interview with IANS, the 70-year-old actor stated, “It’s surprising that nobody wants to face reality. Do you know what happened in Noakhali? – It happened before my birth. All that is known is ‘A lot of people were killed’ – finished.”

“It was the same for the Great Calcutta killings. Nobody wants to know how and why it happened, but Vivek Agnihotri is saying, ‘Please know the truth,’” he added.

Furthermore, on Monday, August 18, a FIR has been filed against filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri over claims that he wrongly portrayed character of freedom fighter Gopal Mukherjee, also known as Gopal Patha, as a “butcher” in the film.

Moreover, the grandson of Gopal, Santana Mukherjee, said the family objects to the portrayal without consent, and added that his grandfather, besides being part of freedom fighters group “Anushilan Samity,” owned two goat-meat shops and was a wrestler.

For the unversed, the upcoming charttopper movie   The Bengal Files is slated for its big screen debut on September 5, 2025.
