The rumours that veteran actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja are divorcing after 34 years of marriage have been in the news ever since.

Our well placed source, tell us, "Even though things might look difficult as of now, but there is no divorce happening. People are trying to bring up old issues again, but nothing like that is happening.”

Although Govinda and Sunita have not commented on the situation, HT City contacted Govinda's manager Shashi, who informs us, “Every couple has a few disagreements now and then. These are all old matters, which people and the media are now trying to spice up and use for their own benefit.”

We questioned him regarding recent reports that claimed that in December 2024, Sunita filed for divorce under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing desertion, cruelty, and adultery as grounds.

Shashi informs us, “A person like Govinda can neither raise his hand at anyone nor shout, so where are these claims of cruelty even coming from? I have worked closely with him, and he is not at all the kind of person the image is now being made out to be. All these issues are stories from the past, and the husband and wife are even working together now.”

Shashi emphasises that Govinda's personal life has been unjustly emphasised.

“Yes, Govinda did not appear in court, but Sunita also hasn’t gone to court, except for the one time when she went to file the case. Which couple doesn’t have problems? Sunita loves Govinda a lot, and the two are together. There is not going to be any divorce. They are focusing on their kids’ (Tina Ahuja and Yashvardan Ahuja) careers and marriages instead of this negativity.”
