‘Haiwaan’ marks Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s first collaboration in 17 Years
Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan will soon be seen together on the big screen after 17 long years.
The duo was last seen in the action-comedy film Tashan (2008), which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and proved to be an average performer at the box office.
Now, they are coming together for an action thriller titled Haiwaan, directed by Hera Pheri fame Priyadarshan.
The film went on the floor today in Kochi, Kerala, which is reportedly the Hindi adaptation of the 2016 Malayalam hit 'Oppam', originally starred Mohanlal.
Akshay took to Instagram to share the latest update with his fans, posting a behind the scenes video.
In the clip, the Sky Force actor can be seen having a playful exchange with Saif and the director, while holding a clapperboard and wearing a T-shirt inscribed with the word “Saint.”
Priyadarshan jokingly insisted that he should be the one to wear Haiwaan, to which Akshay responded humorously, “For all you know, he (Saif) must be the devil. This devil you know about and this devil you don’t know about.”
Sharing the sneak peek, the 57-year-old actor wrote, “Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan…Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan :))
Starting the shoot for Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshan.official Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!”
The Entertainment actor will reportedly take on the role of the villain in this project.
Previously, Akshay and Saif have collaborated on several hit films including the cult classic Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), and Keemat (1998).
