Indian film producer, Karan Johar, who is known for his outspoken personality, recently slammed the growing trend of podcasts that spread negativity about Bollywood.

On Saturday, August 23, the 52-year-old  filmmaker took to his official Instagram account story section to upload the statement.

In a social media post, the television personality explained that he respects credible media.

However, he has serious issues with podcasters who rely on content designed to spark controversy.

He claimed these platforms allow “irrelevant” guests to insult hardworking and respected members of the film industry.

“One sub culture of podcasters (basically chat shows with new age terminology) who have emerged from the woodworks… woods that no GPS can locate… they invite guests who have nothing to lose,” he continued.

Furthermore, he said, “Who haven't been invited since World War 2, and those guests spew venom and say the most disrespectful things about hardworking and legendary members of our fraternity!”

Moreover, he also expressed concern over astrologers making disturbing predictions, including those about death, calling it “insensitive and disgusting.”

Notably, Karan recently co-produced Dhadak 2, starring Triptii Dimri and Sidhant Chaturvedi in the lead roles, and won a National Award for the blockbuster hit Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani.

He will also be seen in Shahrukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan’s directorial debut web series, The Ba**ds of Bollywood, which is slated to premiere on Netflix on September 18.
