Karisma Kapoor, a veteran of Bollywood who made her debut at the age of 16, recently took fans down memory lane, revealing the tough realities of shooting in the 1990s.

In the candid conversation, the 51-year-old actress mentioned that during that time even private toilets was considered a rare luxury.

Last year, speaking at a Ladies Study Group event, the Coolie No.1 actress candidly shared memories that surprised the audience, saying, “Being in the industry for 32 years… I have worked during a time that might seem unbelievable to many of you. We used to change behind bushes.”

She added, “If anyone needed to use the bathroom, we would walk for miles, and the entire unit would whisper, ‘Ah, Ma’am’s going to the loo.’ We have really seen those times.”

Furthermore, she also recalled how actors often stopped at roadside shops or knocked on strangers’ doors to change during outdoor shoots, 

Addiontally, she said, now seeing the industry today, equipped with trailers, digital technology, and advanced sound systems, unveils how much Bollywood have evolved.

For the unversed, Karisma last appeared in the 2024 mystery thriller Murder Mubarak, the star-studded cast includes Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Tara Alisha Berry, Vijay Varma, Sanjay Kapoor, and Dimple Kapadia.
