Fawad Khan's 'Abir Gulaal' gets a new release date

Fans who were eagerly waiting for Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s much-anticipated project Abir Gulaal will have to wait a little longer, as its release has been delayed once again.
This movie marks Fawad’s much-awaited comeback to Bollywood after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016).
The romantic drama was initially scheduled to hit cinemas on May 9, but in the wake of tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack, it was shelved indefinitely.
On the other hand, Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir’s Punjabi venture Sardaar Ji 3 released on June 23, skipping India, and despite criticism, it became a success at the box office.
Following this, the makers of Abir Gulaal also planned an overseas release on August 29, excluding India, which had delighted fans.
However, according to the latest reports, the release date has now been pushed further, with a global premiere expected in mid-September.
Directed by Aarti S. Bagdi and produced by Vivek B. Agrawal, this film is set to reach more than 1,000 screens across 75 countries except India on September 12, 2025.
The film features Pakistan’s heartthrob Fawad Khan as a UK-based chef opposite Bollywood star Vaani Kapoor, and also features veteran actress Farida Jalal along with Lisa Haydon, Ridhi Dogra, and Parmeet Sethi.
Its music, composed by Amit Trivedi, was launched ahead of the original release date on April 19, 2025, at Global Village in Dubai and immediately gained popularity online.
