Virat Kohli sparked a frenzy online after liking a post by actress and social media star Avneet Kaur, showing her in a striking new look.

In his statement, Virat blamed Instagram’s algorithm and denied liking the post intentionally.

The cricketer wrote on his Instagram stories: "I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it."

On the other hand, this incident resulted in increased fan following for Avneet on Instagram, though she chose to remain silent.

However, at a recent event, she was asked about receiving love and admiration from celebrities online, in reference to Kohli’s ‘like’.

Responding to the question, the 23-year-old actress smiled and said: "Milta rahe pyaar... aur kya hi keh sakti hoon (May the love keep coming… what else can I really say)."

In the viral photos, the Mardani actress was spotted wearing a green crop top and a mini skirt with a white base and black cheetah-style print.

This unintentional ‘like’ turned into a golden opportunity for the actress, as she not only gained over 1 million new followers but also reportedly signed 12 new brand deals, increasing her brand value by 30%.
