Bollywood actress Sameera Reddy has opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression and the trolling she faced.

In a recent interview with Zoom, the 46-year-old actress revealed that after her pregnancy, she gained weight and became a target of trolls, which severely affected her mental health.

She recalled the “rough time” she went through when her body weight reached 105 kg.

The Musafir actress shared, "After I gave birth, I put on so much weight because I was pumped with hormones. I had a rough time emotionally dealing with postpartum at that time. In the beginning, I was affected because I myself was confused. I went from absolutely slim to 105 kg."

Known for her work in films like No Entry (2005), Race (2008), and De Dana Dan (2009), Sameera revealed that she was even mocked by a vegetable vendor.

"I remember being mad, depressed. People are not nice. If they want to say something, they say it on your face. I always say the bhajiwala (vegetable vendor) also did not spare me. Nobody will understand at that moment what you are going through. So, I am not going to lie and say it didn't hurt me," she added.

This is not the first time the Vedi star has spoken about her mental health. Back in 2022, she shared a heartfelt Instagram post about her postpartum depression.

The Maine Dil Tujhko Diya actress tied the knot with entrepreneur Akshai Varde on January 21, 2014.

The couple welcomed their son, Hans, in 2015 and daughter, Nyra, in 2019.

Following her wedding, Sameera took a break from acting but is now gearing up for her comeback with the horror-thriller Chimni, slated for release in 2025.
