Actress Shamita Shetty, who rose to fame after her performance in the hit song Sharara, has given rare insights into the frequent comparisons with her sister Shilpa Shetty.

During a candid conversation, the 46-year-old interior designer revealed that, in the past, such comparisons affected her mental health greatly, but she has since learned to manage them.

In an interview with Pinkvilla host Gayatri Nirmal, she jokingly stated, “Shilpa is the ‘Holy Cow,’ and I was always called the brat.”

“It was very difficult just to exist and discover more about myself. You constantly feel like, ‘Oh, maybe that’s not good of me, or that’s not right of me.’ It creates a certain turmoil inside because then you don’t know who you should be,” she continued.

Additionally, she revealed that she didn’t discuss much about how comparisons made her feel in her early years, but now she believes it is completely useless to pay attention to such trivial talk.

Furthermore, the Tenant star remarked that even siblings can be very different, like Shilpa and herself. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Notably, the two sisters recently guest-starred in the Netflix show The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3, Rakshabandhan special episode, which streamed on August o9,  2025, alongside industry peers Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem.
