The relationship between the neighbouring countries, Pakistan and India, remains tense most of the time, but their artists share a beautiful bond.

Recently, Indian singer Sonu Nigam spoke about his relationship with Pakistani singer Ali Zafar and expressed his admiration for folk legend Attaullah Esakhelvi.

In a viral clip on social media, Nigam can be heard talking about the Channo singer, saying, “I talk to Ali Zafar every week or once in two weeks. He is a very good man, a very great man.”

He added that he feels connected to people who share the same mindset and values.

The Zoobi Doobi artist revealed that Attaullah holds significant influence in his life and that he feels indebted to him.

The 52-year-old singer heaped praise on the veteran Pakistani artist, saying, “Definitely, he is a beautiful soul and holds great importance in my life. I had just started my career covering his songs. He called me and said, ‘Mr Sonu, I am Attaullah Esakhelvi from Pakistan, and I want to tell you that you sang it really well.’”

For the unversed, Sonu visited Pakistan in April 2004 for a concert in Karachi, where he performed alongside Amjad Sabri, a performance that received widespread acclaim.
