Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, who continues to host the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, praised cricketer Virat Kohli for his emotional triumph in the IPL.

Kohli’s long-standing association with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has always captured the hearts of cricket fans.

Moreover, their recent triumph in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) made the victory even more memorable.

Notably, for the first time in 18 years, the franchise lifted the coveted IPL trophy, with captain Rajat Patidar and star batter Kohli leading the celebrations.

The emotional moment did not go unnoticed, even among Bollywood legends.

On a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh lauded Kohli’s commitment and the genuine emotions he showed after RCB’s landmark victory.

During the show, the Sholay actor posed a sports-related question to the contestant: “In 2025, who became the first batter to score 9,000 runs for a single franchise in his career?”

The correct answer was Virat Kohli, prompting the veteran actor to reflect on his journey with the franchise.

“Virat Kohli has played his entire career only for RCB, and until recently, the team had never won the championship. You could see the emotions on his face when they finally triumphed,” the 82-year-old actor said.

“It is incredible how even the greatest athletes can be moved by such moments, after years of hard work and dedication. It shows the human side of a global star.”

Fans of the cricketer were quick to respond on social media, praising both RBC captain's perseverance and Bachchan’s heartfelt remarks.

While Kohli is currently taking a break from competitive cricket, he is widely expected to return to the RCB squad for IPL Season 19.
