Indian stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui took down memory lane in his latest interview.
During candid chat, the 33-year-old rapper shared insights about his struggling childhood days and talked about his complicated relationship with his father.
On Saturday, August 30, the singer in conversation with host Prakhar Gupta on his podcast The Prakhar Gupta Xperience, he revealed that he was initially very angry from his father, but later decided to forgive him after realizing the hardships he suffered.
He said,“Two years after my mom's passing, my dad had a paralytic attack and was 80% paralyzed for 11 years. I thought of him as a villain, but he was still my father… That situation made me forgiving, and then you keep letting go of everything.”
Additionally, he also reflected on his mother’s struggles during her 22-year-long marriage.
The Big Boss Season 17 winner told that his mother never received appreciation from her family and endured a lot silently.
Meanwhile, recounting the day when she was hospitalized after attempting suicide, he noted, “I was 13 years old when I found out she was in the hospital. She was shifted to the ER immediately, but passed away.”
Furthermore, he mentioned that he wasn’t even allowed to mourn the loss, as he stated, “The very next morning, they handed me tasks and told me to be strong. I had to take care of everyone. I pretended everything was normal, even during the last rites, but I was crying inside.”
Notably, last year Munawar exchanged vows with makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwaala in an intimate wedding celebration on May 26.
It is pertinent to note, he has a son, Mikael, from his previous marriage to Jasmine, while his current wife Mehzabeen has a daughter, Samaira, from her first marriage.
