Zareen Khan opens up on struggles of outsiders in Bollywood
Actor says only a few from current generation show real hard work
Zareen Khan may not have had many hits, but she does have a viewpoint on the state of the Hindi film industry today in her brief Bollywood career.
In a recent interview, she discussed the newest generation of "nepo kids" in the business and how they continue to be given opportunities and films even though the public clearly disapproves of them. In the process, she also mentioned the few actors she believes have a chance to succeed.
Zareen specifically mentioned actor Ibrahim Ali Khan and his efforts to overcome obstacles in order to establish himself in Bollywood in an interview with Faridoon Shahyar. Alaya F, who is excellent but does not receive enough projects, was also mentioned by her.
"I like Rasha (Thadani) a lot, honestly. I even like Ibrahim, because I think he has a good physique and has worked hard. He also has his drawbacks, you could say he seems to have some issue with hearing or maybe with speech, but he is someone who is working on himself, and I can see his efforts. But very few from the current lot are like that, very few.
“Even Alaya, I think Alaya is so good. Unfortunately, maybe because she doesn’t have a powerful person backing her the way others do, she hasn’t received that many opportunities. But she is very talented, she is very good. Even the way she speaks, her speech, her conversations, are so good.”
