Janhvi Kapoor is currently riding high on the success of her recent release Param Sundari, which features Siddharth Malhotra in the lead role opposite her.

The 28-year-old star has a busy slate and will next be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsikumari, starring Varun Dhawan, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf.

According to some  media reports, the  Roohi actress is now all set to step into her mother’s shoes.

Reportedly, she is in talks to star in the remake of the iconic film Chaalbaaz.

The cult comedy film, released in 1989, starred her mother, Sridevi, in a double role.

A source close to the development shared, “For Janhvi, Chaalbaaz is a lot more than just a film. It’s an emotion. She has jumped at the chance of playing the lead role in it, but is treading this with utmost caution."

The insiders further added that the Bawaal actress is taking opinions from people around her for this remake. 

Moreover, she is excited but also cautious about inevitable comparisons and is expected to make her final decision by the end of September.

The remake was earlier announced with Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, but never went on floor and now Jhanvi is going to replace her.

Sridevi is considered as the first female superstar of the Indian film industry, she was the first heroin who charged a whopping Rs. 1 crore for a film.

In her career spanning five decades, she acted in a total of 269 films across different languages.

 Now, all eyes are on her daughter to see how she will carry forward her mother’s legacy.
