Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk, Sonam Bajwa join hands to support flood victims
Artists provide essential aid to adopted villages and homes
Punjab is reeling through a devastating flood that has submerged hundreds of villages with thousands of homes, and large tracts of agricultural land.
Considering the grim situation, many artists from this region have come forward, using their influence to help the affectees and pledging to provide critical support for their rehabilitation.
Famous Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh joined the relief efforts by working with NGOs and the local administration, and announced that he has adopted 10 of the most effected villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar.
In a statement posted on Instagram, his team said that they are focusing on essentials such as food, water, and medical aid, and planning for long-term recovery of the victims.
On the other hand, actor and singer Ammy Virk expressed his sorrow over the catastrophe and the living conditions of the people in Punjab.
Taking to Instagram, the singer and his team announced that they have adopted 200 houses to provide shelter.
In another show of solidarity, the makers of Ammy’s upcoming film Nikka Zaildar 4 has postponed its release to October 2, 2025.
Moreover, actress Sonam Bajwa also shared her deep distress over the condition of the calamity-hit region, stating that she is donating to organisations actively working on the ground as rescue teams, and urged her fans to do the same.
Besides them, actor and social worker Sonu Sood also assured his commitment to help in a social media post, saying, “If you need any kind of help, please don’t hesitate to message. We will do our best to reach out and support you in any way we can. Punjab is my soul.”
Other celebrities, including Gippy Grewal, Himanshi Khurana, and Karan Aujla, also affirmed their support for relief efforts.
