Sanjay Leela Bhansali is counted among those Bollywood directors whose name alone is considered a guarantee of the success of his magnificent projects.

From Devdas to Heeramandi, the filmmaker has delivered one remarkable project after another to Bollywood.

At present, he is busy shooting his new venture, Love and War. Yet  just as this project is quickly moving towards completion, the 62-year-director has found himself caught in an unexpected and unpleasant situation, with a formal police case now registered against him.

Media reports suggest, the complaint was launched by a man named Prateek Raj Mathur, who claimed he was initially given a contract as a line producer for the project but was later removed without payment.

The plaintiff also alleged that he made all necessary arrangements for the film's shoot and coordinated with government departments as required.

However, when he went to meet the film team at a hotel, the Padmaavat maker and others allegedly misbehaved with him.

Following a court order, an FIR was lodged on Monday at Bichhwal police station and SHO Govind Singh Charan is investigating the matter.

So far, no statement has come from the filmmaker or his team.

Meanwhile, Love and war  brings together three of the industry’s biggest superstars, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt, set to storm the screens in 2026.
