Pakistani actress Mariyam Nafees has lashed out at parents for hiring men a nannies for their children, especially daughters.

The 31-year-old actress is known for fearlessly speaking up on social and women’s issues without caring about social media trolling.

The Diyar-e-Dil star recently shared a video message on Instagram, calling out the parents for their carelessness.

Describing her experience, she said, “Today we went for Essa’s vaccination, and what we saw there was kind of disturbing for both of us. We saw two baby girls of ages 2& 4 with male nannies or helpers.”

She added, “We didn’t understand why they chose a male servant for their baby girl, when so many cases of sexual abuse have been reported and many go unreported because of social stigma.”

The Munkir actor questioned, “Why would you trust a man to handle your daughter?”

She further stated, “Only between January and June 2023, thousands of cases were reported. It is said that, unfortunately, every other hour a child is subjected to sexual abuse in Pakistan, which means twelve kids a day.”

She urged the guardians to switch to a female nanny and not to hire a male one.

For those unfamiliar, Maryam tied the knot with a Pakistani filmmaker, Aman Ahmed, on March 225, 2022, and embraced motherhood earlier this year in March.
