Akshay Kumar’s generous step for flood victims wins hearts
Akshay Kumar’s heartwarming support for flood victims makes headlines
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar once again proved that he is not just a celebrity but also a kind-hearted and generous person.
At a time when Punjab is suffering from devastating floods, many celebrities have come forward to lend a helping hand, and Akshay was no exception.
The 57-year-old actor has donated Rs. 5 crores for flood relief efforts and described his action as an act of service.
In a conversation with Sonar Kalra, when asked about pledging money for the Punjab flood victims, Akshay answered, "I maintain my view on this. Yes, I am giving Rs. 5 crores for buying relief material for the Punjab flood victims, but who am I to 'donate' to anyone? I feel blessed when I get an opportunity to extend a helping hand.”
He added, “For me, it's my sewa, my very small contribution. I pray that the natural calamity that has struck my brothers and sisters in Punjab passes soon. Rab mehr kare."
This is not the first time the Sarfira actor has supported a humanitarian cause.
Over the years, he has frequently extended financial assistance during national emergencies.
Back in 2019, he donated Rs. 5 crores for the families of jawans who lost their lives in Pulwama and also contributed Rs. 2 crores for flood victims.
Apart from this, during the pandemic, the SkyForce star pledged a whopping Rs. 25 crores to the PM-CARES Fund, which was considered one of the largest contributions by a Bollywood star at that time.
