Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra are facing increased scrutiny from the Mumbai Police in connection with a Rs. 60-crore cheating case.

Authorities have issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against both of them as the investigation intensifies.

According to media reports, the LOC was initiated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which is also probing the matter, citing the couple’s frequent international travel.

A police officer explained, “Once a Look Out Circular is issued, the information is shared with airports across the country, and if they are found travelling, they will be detained.”

The official further added that the police are also planning to summon the couple next week to record their statements in connection with the case.

Shilpa and Raj, along with an unidentified person, were named in an FIR filed on August 14 by 60-year-old businessman Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services.

Kothari accused the actress and her husband of diverting funds meant for company expansion between 2015 and 2023 for personal use.

On behalf of the couple, advocate Prashant Patil released a press statement denying all allegations.

Citing the payment as part of an “old transaction,” he said the company later went into financial distress and eventually became entangled in a long legal battle at the NCLT.
