Sivakarthikeyan and director AR Murugadoss were expected to work together on a big action packed thriller.

Has Madharaasi, which hit theatres around the world on September 5th, lived up to the hype. The movie received mixed reviews when it first came out.

On its first day of release, the Sivakarthikeyan film brought in ₹13 crore in India. Its gross revenue in India is ₹15.35 crore.

The movie did poorly abroad, earning an extra ₹5.15 crore on its first day of release. According to Sacnilk, this brings the movie's total overseas earnings to ₹20.50 crore.

Madharaasi's opening day numbers pale in comparison to those of Sivakarthikeyan's 2024 film Amaran, which starred Sai Pallavi. On its first day of release, Amaran brought in ₹34.70 crore worldwide.

Rukmini Vasanth, Biju Menon, and Vidyut Jammwal are also featured in Madharaasi. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

When the movie first came out it was well received by critics, who praised Sivakarthikeyan's performance as the lead and hailed AR Murugadoss's comeback after a run of poor films.
