Salman Khan and family are vindictive, claims Abhinav Kashyap
Salman Khan and his family have come under fire from filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, best known for directing the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg.
The director called them “vindictive” and accused the superstar of being uninterested in his craft for decades
In a candid conversation with Screen, Kashyap said Salman “does a favour by just turning up to work” and claimed the actor hasn’t been serious about acting for the last 25 years. “He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but not the art of acting.
He went on to say, "Salman badtameez hai, ganda insaan hai (Salman is ill-mannered, a bad person). He is a gunda (goon). I wasn’t aware of this before Dabangg."
Kashyap also accused the Khan family of monopolising the industry.
He alleged that the 59-year-old is the father of the star system in Bollywood. His family has been around for 50 years, and they control the process. If you don’t agree with them, they come after you. They are vindictive people.
Meanwhile, Dabangg was produced by Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora, turned the Kick star into the iconic Chulbul Pandey, and spawned two sequels, Dabangg 2 (2012) and Dabangg 3 (2019).
After Dabangg, Kashyap directed Besharam (2013) with Ranbir Kapoor, while also working in television and acting in films like Yuva and Paanch.
Meanwhile, Salman was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar and will next appear in Apoorva Lakhia’s Battle of Galwan, apart from hosting Bigg Boss 19.
