A movie starring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth together has long been anticipated by fans. In their earlier years, the two Tamil film industry superstars collaborated on a number of films, including Apoorva Ragangal, Moondru Mudichu, Avargal, and Pathinaru Vayathinilele.

Kamal Haasan has now made a significant announcement at the SIIMA Awards stage. After winning for his role in Kalki 2898 AD, the veteran actor was asked if fans could anticipate another movie in which he worked with Rajinikanth.

Kamal replied, “We don't know if it's a Tharamana Sambavam (wonderful occurence) but it's good if the audience likes it. If they're happy, we'll like it. Otherwise, we'll continue trying. This was long coming. We were separate because they gave one biscuit to both of us. But the half biscuit makes us both happy, so we'll come together.”

He added, “It is you all who thought/created the competition. We don't have any competition between us. It's important that we got the chance to do this. He is like that, so am I. It might be a surprise, business-wise, but we feel at least now it's happening. We always wanted to produce each other's films.”

No additional information regarding the movie was confirmed by Kamal. Rumour has it that director Lokesh Kanagaraj has been working on the project. I have cameos planned for the LCU and I'll rope in Kamal because I'm a huge Kamal fan," Lokesh said at a recent Coolie promotional event. Kamal and Lokesh collaborated on Vikram. Coolie, Rajinikanth's final movie, came out last month.

He was last seen by fans in Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. The movie did poorly at the box office and received mixed reviews when it first came out. You can now watch it on Netflix.
