Salman Khan’s 'Ek Tha Tiger' receives big honour after years
Salman Khan's spy thriller ranked among the famous Hollywood movies
Salman Khan’s spy thriller Ek Tha Tiger has achieved a remarkable milestone, 13 years after its release.
The Katrina Kaif-starrer has become the only Indian film to be featured at the prestigious International Spy Museum in Washington, DC, USA.
According to reports, the museum has showcased around 25 international films, with Ek Tha Tiger earning a special place among them.
The film now ranks alongside iconic franchises such as James Bond, Mission: Impossible, and Men in Black.
The movie also marked the first collaboration between the 59-year-old star and filmmaker Kabir Khan.
Excited by the recognition, director Kabir shared the film’s poster on Instagram, originally released in 2012, along with a carousel of stills and unseen pictures from the sets.
Kabir revealed that he had no prior knowledge of the honour and only found out after people messaged him saying they had seen the poster at the museum.
He wrote, “They messaged me, we saw the poster of Ek Tha Tiger, and it’s the only Hindi film there in the whole galaxy of films.
I found it very amusing, and it was great to see Salman and Katrina’s faces on that wall! This must have been a recent addition. The first message I got, informing me about it, was a few months ago.”
Reflecting on the film’s action sequences, he added, “Those were the days when we were not relying so much on VFX for action.
I feel that as a filmmaker and an audience, there’s a difference when you attempt raw, real, and gritty action. Too much dependence on VFX doesn’t connect.”
Salman was last seen in Sikandar, released earlier this year, and is now busy shooting Battle of Galwan.
Meanwhile, Katrina was last seen in the 2024 film Merry Christmas, which was simultaneously shot in Tamil.
