Salman Khan comes forward to help flood-hit communities
Salman Khan sent boats to rescue people, planning to adopt villages
Salman Khan is celebrated as one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars, and he is equally admired for his philanthropic activities.
True to his reputation, the actor has stepped up once again to help those in distress. This time, he has extended his helping hand to the people suffering from flood devastation in Punjab.
As the state battles one of its worst floods, the 59-year-old actor, through his NGO Being Human, has sent five boats to aid rescue efforts.
Three are already being used on the ground to evacuate stranded families, deliver essential supplies, and support volunteers, while two others have been formally handed over at the Ferozepur border.
Punjab Tourism Chairman Deepak Bali also revealed that Being Human plans to adopt several flood-affected villages near Husainiwala once conditions stabilise.
The Dabangg star also used his platform on Bigg Boss 19 to raise awareness about the crisis.
Speaking to the housemates, he expressed concern over the devastation in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
He reminded them that farmers, who ensure food security for the country, are now left without food or shelter themselves.
Praising the Sikh community’s tradition of langar and seva, he urged that it was time to stand by them in their hour of need.
The Kick actor also acknowledged the efforts of Punjabi singers who have personally contributed on the ground.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman is gearing up for his upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan.
Fans are also buzzing about his much-talked-about reunion with Kabir Khan, with Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 reportedly in the pipeline.
