Anupamaa’s Rajan Shahi unveils challenges in casting Gaurav Khanna
Rajan Shahi speaks about the obstacles and advice he received before bringing Gaurav Khanna on board
Television hit drama Anupamaa's producer Rajan Shahi finally talked about lead star Gaurav Khanna in his recent appearance.
During a candid chat, the 53-year-old revealed that many people warned him when he was casting Gaurav, but he ignored all the buzz and trusted his instincts and decided to bring him on board for a lead role.
He stated, “A lot of people, including some celebrities, told me that Gaurav’s shows didn’t work; he is jinxed. And I hate when someone says that. I have heard these things about me in the beginning, so it makes me furious.
Everything has its own synergy and fate; one person cannot be responsible for determining that.”
He went on to add, “There was a lot of confidence in Anuj’s character. By the time Gaurav joined, Rupali had taken Anupamaa to greater heights.
Furthermore, he noted, "But Gaurav had that hunger to prove himself; he hadn’t done a serial for 6-7 years, so he gave the show his best.”
Notably, after Gaurav's exit from chart topper show, he joined Celebrity MasterChef, which was hosted by Farah Khan, and won the competition.
Now, he is currently participating in Salman Khan's Bigg Boss Season 19.
