Bigg Boss 19 security: 5 biggest changes on set this season
Bigg Boss 19 has taken drastic measures to keep host Salman Khan safe — here are the top five behind-the-scenes security upgrades fans didn’t know about
Bollywood star Salman Khan will return to host Bigg Boss 19, which will be televised on Colours and streamed on JioHotstar. However, the backstage scene has changed drastically. The Bigg Boss set has now been transformed into a nearly fortified area by the show's producers due to the increased threats that the actor faces.
Why the Audience Ban Was Necessary
Endemol Shine India CEO Rishi Negi discussed the major security changes that were made, particularly in relation to the Weekend Ka Vaar filming with Salman, in an interview with SCREEN.
“We don’t get live audiences on the show now when Salman Khan is there. Also, there is a very strict protocol about the people who come on the show. For everyone we hire, whether on a permanent basis, temporary, or vendor basis, we do a strict background check on them,” he revealed.
In contrast to previous seasons, the decision to do away with a live audience highlights how seriously the show is taking the actor's safety.
Overseeing a production as big as Bigg Boss necessitates constant coordination, which is made even more difficult by the added security. Rishi described the crew arrangement that guarantees the show runs smoothly without sacrificing security.
“We have close to 600 people in our workforce. There are 3 shifts, and we work 24X7. There is fair representation of women in the workforce. When it comes to content security and on-ground logistics, we are absolutely uncompromising — both are top priorities,” he stated.
This army of unseen experts works in shifts to maintain strict oversight at every stage and guarantee continuity.
