Actress Tamannaah Bhatia opens up about the struggles faced by women in industry
Tamannaah Bhatia spoke about her approach of working in Bollywood and overcoming consistent setbacks.
In a recent chat, the 35-year-old actress stated,“No one gives you work just because you’re a nice person. People hire you because you bring value to the table.”
During a candid conversation with the Hollywood Reporter India, she noted, “In the long run, it’s more beneficial to express yourself in front of others. When they see an idea develop into something suitable for the script or plot, it usually works in your favour".
"Worrying too much about how others will react often limits your ability to contribute and is quite counterproductive," she continued.
Furthermore, the Baahubali star added that putting forward your ideas and being creative usually pays off, while overthinking others’ opinions can limit your creativity.
The actress also reflected on dealing with men in the industry who thought they were in charge.
As she revealed a clever mental trick that she would imagine them in a saree or glamorous outfit and realize, “What I can do… he can’t. So they will need me.”
Her new web series, Do You Wanna Partner, co-starring Diana Penty and Nakuul Mehta, is directed by Collin D’Cunha and Archit Kumar, and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
The upcoming show is set to premiere on Prime Video starting September 12.
