It is not necessary to introduce Bollywood celebrities and their links to dangerous substances like pan masalas.

Apart from their own consumption, a number of well-known celebrities disregarded public safety and promoted gutka and pan masala brands, earning hundreds of crores in spite of harsh criticism.

What Akshay Said About Gutka

Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar, however, made the slightly different decision. A reporter questioned the actor about Kanpur's famous connection to gutka during the Jolly LLB 3 trailer launch event. One should not consume gutka was Akshay's prompt response.

And when the reporter attempted to stress the point further, Akshay firmly snapped at the interruption, saying, “Interview mera hai ya tumhara? Main bol raha hoon, gutka nahi khana chahiye, that’s it. Next question.” (“Is this my interview or yours? I’m saying one should not consume gutka, that’s it).”

Akshay's response to the journalist and his resolve opposition to gutka consumption are going viral, igniting debate about tobacco use as well as bringing back memories of Akshay Kumar's previous endorsement scandal.

Netizens React to Akshay’s Viral Video

Bollywood celebrities who promote pan masalas are typically trolled by moviegoers and internet users. But instead, Akshay was a class apart, making fun of the overly enthusiastic journalist.

In the courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3, Akshay plays Jolly Mishra again, while Arshad plays a rival attorney. Judge Tripathi, played by Saurabh Shukla, is back. A tense legal battle between the two Jollys is depicted in the trailer. On September 19, 2025, the movie is scheduled to be released in theatres.
