Renowned Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari’s latest Instagram post about the Punjab Police’s wing, CCD, has ignited controversy, receiving both praise and backlash.

The 69-year-old actress is very active on Instagram and often shares her videos. 

Sometimes, she also takes her followers down memory lane by posting clips of her old work.

However, her recent post surprised many, as she shared a screenshot of someone else’s statement, a confession by a man guilty of sexually harassing women.

The post read, “My name is Asadullah. I used to harass women on the streets. When the CCD conducted a raid, I tried to flee on my motorcycle, but it crashed into a pole and all five of my fingers broke. I will never do such a thing again.”

It should be noted that CCD is known for killing rape suspects in police encounters and injuring those accused of sexual harassment.

Some believe these are extrajudicial killings, which should not be encouraged, arguing that criminals should be brought to court for justice.

At the same time, many citizens appreciate this trend, pointing out that lengthy and often fruitless court cases do not always provide justice to victims.

Bushra Ansari is among those who voiced support for CCD’s methods. 

In her caption, she wrote, “Wow wow wow wow. CCD!! Hello. Where were you before?? Keep them alive. Just make them useless and leave them.”

While many netizens supported her stance, a notable number of followers criticised her.
