A recent song from Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s starrer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat not only shocked netizens but also sparked a debate across social media platforms.

At a time when relations between India and Pakistan remain sour after a brief war following the Pahalgam attack, Bollywood has once again proudly copied a Pakistani song in its film.

On September 11, both lead actors of the film shared their stills with the caption, “Deewaniyat mein hua yeh dil awaara, ab bol kaffara kya hoga. #BolKaffara song out on 15th September, only on @playdmfofficial YouTube channel.”

As soon as the post hit social media, Pakistani Instagram users were quick to point out that this was yet another Pakistani song being copied.

Many recalled Harshvardhan’s earlier statement about not working in a film featuring a Pakistani actor during wartime.

One user criticised the makers, saying, “Stole another Pakistani song.”

Another commented, “How can you do this? Where did all those big claims go that you wouldn’t work with Pakistani artists? This was just a statement made a few months ago.”

A third user wrote, “You can copy Pakistan’s songs, but when it comes to their dramas, you banned them.”

While a comment read, “Pakistani actors bother them, but Pakistani songs give them peace.”

For the unversed, Bol Kaffara is originally an OST from the Pakistani drama serial Parlour Wali Larki, aired on Bol TV in 2018.

Composed by Asim Raza and Soch Band, it was sung by Sehar Gul Khan and Shehbaz Fayaz Qawwal, and has over 146 million views on YouTube.
