The final medico-legal report into the death of model and actor Humaira Asghar has only added to the mystery, raising more questions than answers.

Investigators found traces of blood on her T-shirt and trousers, but the samples contained so little human DNA that experts couldn’t trace their origin.

The inconclusive finding leaves a troubling gap in understanding what happened in her last moments. Equally unsettling was the condition of her remains. When the body was recovered, only bones were left.

While the skeleton was largely intact, there were no soft tissues or internal organs.

This made it impossible to determine a clear cause of death.

Forensic specialists couldn’t confirm whether the organs had simply decomposed with time or if they were removed before, or even after, death.

Furthermore, Toxicology results also showed no traces of drugs or poison.

The report has reignited debate over Pakistan’s lack of a national DNA and blood database.

Experts say such a system might have helped identify the blood or even uncovered links to those involved.

Humaira Asghar, 42, had lived alone since 2018 in a third-floor flat in DHA Phase VI, Karachi.

Earlier this year, she reportedly stopped paying rent, which led to a court-ordered eviction.

Months later, when the landlord arrived with police and a bailiff to enforce the order, they found the door locked from inside.

Forced entry revealed a grim scene, the skeletal remains of the actor, lying in advanced decomposition.
