Sonam Bajwa's recent Instagram post draws connection with Islamic scholar
After ‘Bol Kaffara,’ Sonam Bajwa’s post also appears inspired by a Pakistani content
The controversy over Sonam Bajwa and Harshvardhan Rane’s film Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat copying a Pakistani song had barely settled when another issue grabbed netizens’ attention.
It happened when the 36-year-old actress shared a carousel of her behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, styled for the song Bol Kaffara.
In the pictures, Sonam looked stunning in a lehenga choli, complemented with traditional jewelry like bangles, a maang tikka, rings, necklaces, and earrings that enhanced her look even more. Some shots showed her taking selfies, while in one, she posed with a gesture of Adaab.
But more than the beautiful pictures, what caught people’s attention was the audio she chose for the post, which was related to love.
In the audio, a voice could be heard saying, “Usne kaha tha Ishq aik dhong hai...phir mene kaha tujhe Ishq ho Khuda kare...aur koi tujhe us se juda kare...tu gali gali phira kare...phir tu usey tasbeeho per parrha kare...tu usi ka naam japa kare...phir me kahun k Ishq aik dhong hai...aur tun ahi nahi kaha kare.”
(He said love is a lie. Then I said may you fall in love, may God will it... and may someone separate you from that love... may you wander in every street... may you chant their name on your rosary... may you keep remembering them... and then when I say love is a lie, may you refuse to believe it.")
Sonam tied the audio to her upcoming film and captioned the post, “Tujhe ishq ho Khuda kare, October 21, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.”
However, her followers were shocked because the audio wasn’t just any random clip, it was actually taken from a religious lecture by Pakistani Islamic scholar Pir Ajmal Raza Qadri, where he was talking about divine love (ishq-e-haqiqi).
Social media users quickly recognised it and rushed to the comments to point it out.
Many jokingly asked Sonam Bajwa, “Do you also listen to Ajmal Raza Qadri’s speeches?”
Another commented, "Maulvi sahab kitna viral hogaye."
