Harshvardhan Rane backs Aamir Khan's stance on producers' expenses

Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane, widely acclaimed for his roles, has come forward in support of Aamir Khan.

The 41-year-old actor has pledged to stand by fair filmmaking practices by covering his entourage’s expenses himself, ensuring producers are not burdened with extra costs.

His statement comes in the wake of superstar Aamir Khan’s candid remarks that reopened an age-old conversation about actors’ extravagant demands on film sets.

Speaking on Komal Nahta’s podcast Game Changers: The actor come producer, Aamir voiced his dismay over how some stars expect producers to pay for their personal staff, drivers, trainers, cooks, and spot boys included.

He even cited instances where actors insist on live kitchens, multiple vanity vans, and private gym setups, all at the producer’s expense.

With nearly four decades in cinema behind him, the 60-year-old actor did not mince words.

He called it “shameful” that actors earning in crores shy away from paying for their own needs, stressing that such practices are not only unfair but also harmful to the industry’s health.

Sharing his own example, he revealed that even when his family accompanied him on outdoor shoots, he always shouldered those costs himself, never passing them on to the producers.

Taking inspiration from the PK star and industry veterans who have criticised rising entourage expenses, Harshvardhan declared on Instagram, “Khuddari hai sir. I hereby pledge not to let my producer pay for my entourage. I will stand for fair producers.”

With this commitment, the Sanam Teri Kasam actor hopes to set a precedent, reminding his peers that respect for producers is as vital as star power in keeping the industry afloat.

On the work front, he is currently finishing his upcoming film with Sonam Bajwa, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which is slated to hit the theatres on October 21, 2025.

Meanwhile, Aamir was last seen in Sitare Zameen Par.
