Ajith Kumar’s ‘Good Bad Ugly’ pulled from Netflix overnight - here’s why
Ajith Kumar’s April 2025 release 'Good Bad Ugly' has been removed from Netflix following a Madras High Court order over Ilaiyaraaja’s copyright claims
The film Good Bad Ugly, which starred Ajith Kumar, was released on April 10, 2025. When it came out in theatres, it was well received.
However, because of its controversy, Good Bad Ugly has made headlines months after its release.
Following the release of Good Bad Ugly, composer, lyricist, and playback singer Ilaiyaraaja took the legal route and sent a notice to the film's producers, claiming that three of his songs were used in the film without permission by Ajith Kumar.
The headlines are still dominated by the controversy. According to recent reports, the film has been removed from the over-the-top streaming service Netflix as a result of this controversy.
According to recent reports, Netflix no longer offers Ajith Kumar's Telugu comedy action thriller Good Bad Ugly for viewing. The movie was made available on Netflix on May 8th, following its April theatrical release. Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada are among the languages in which it was released.
The message "Oops, we don't have that" now shows up when someone searches for the movie on the over-the-top platform. Try looking for different films, television series, actors, directors, or genres.
This comes after the Madras High Court restrained Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of the picture, from using three of Ilaiyaraaja's songs in the film due to copyright issues.
The filmmakers were directed to show the film without the songs. Ottha Ruba Tharen, En Jodi Manja Kuruvi, and Ilamai Idho Idho are the three songs that are featured in the film. According to reports, the composer asked the filmmakers to take the songs out of the movie and demanded Rs 5 crore in compensation.
