Subhash Kapoor’s courtroom comedy 'Jolly LLB 3' has pulled strong numbers at the box office, crossing ₹65.5 crore in just 5 days
Day 5 box office collection for Jolly LLB 3: On September 19, Subhash Kapoor's legal comedy, starring Saurabh Shukla, Arshad Warsi, and Akshay Kumar, was released. Despite being a weekday, the film is doing fairly well at the box office, recording a consistent amount of business on its first Tuesday.
Within five days of its release, the movie brought in over ₹65 crore net in India, according to Sacnilk.
The trade website estimates that Jolly LLB 3's net revenue in India was ₹6.50 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total domestic revenue to ₹65.50 crore. After a 73% decline on Monday, the movie held steady at ₹5.1 crore. With an opening of ₹12.5 crore, Jolly LLB 3 made ₹20 crore and ₹21 crore on Saturday and Sunday.
Despite being a weekday, the movie's Hindi occupancy rate was a respectable 16.72%, and it increased throughout the day. In its first weekend, the movie brought in ₹83 crore worldwide. How much the movie makes in its first week of release is still up in the air.
Under the banners of Star Studio18 and Kangra Talkies, Jolly LLB is directed by Subhash Kapoor and produced by Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare. Saurabh Shukla, Amrita Rao, and Huma Qureshi all return as Justice Tripathi, Sandhya Tyagi, and Pushpa Pandey Mishra, while Arshad and Akshay play advocates named Jolly.
The film is a follow up to Jolly LLB (2013), which was headlined by Arshad, and Jolly LLB 2 (2017), which was headlined by Akshay. Hindustan Times’ review of the film reads, “Overall, Jolly LLB 3 may not outshine the first two films, but it keeps the courtroom drama spirit alive with enough laughs and solid performances to make it a worthy addition to the series.”
