Fans of Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan will finally see them together on the big screen after The Legend of Maula Jatt in much-awaited film Neelofar, releasing in cinemas this winter.

The film, directed by Ammar Rasool and co- produced by Fawad Khan, features talented cast such as Madiha Imam, Behroze Sabzwari, Samiya Mumtaz and Atiqa Odho.

Mahira Khan shared major update on the release date of the movie on her official Instagram account as she posted the film’s first look with the caption, “Agli Mulaqat ka intezar rahay ga.. Neelofar - This Winter.”

The film wrapped up shooting in December 2020 but was delayed due to the Covid 19 pandemic, which had forced several projects to pause for a while.

At that time, the Humsafar actress hinted at the challenges saying, “We were shooting for the film before this pandemic situation (Covid) happened. There were only 10 days left for the shooting but now we don’t even know when it’ll be finished.

During an earlier interview, with Something Haute the host Aamna Isani remarked, “What’s happening with Neelofar? Two years ago, it was ready… the film Neelofar was all set to release.”

Responding to this, Fawad Khan said, “That’s not my department., I’m the producer, but still, release isn’t my department. When asked if the film was complete, he confirmed, “Yes, it’s fully ready. It’s in post-production now, which is almost complete.”

When the host pressed further and asked if audiences could expect the film that year (2024), the Barzakh actor replied, “It’s possible, yes. It will release. It’s not like it won’t release; it definitely will.”
