Shraddha Kapoor announces animated film ‘Choti Stree’
Shraddha Kapoor and Dinesh Vijan surprise 'Stree's fans at 'Thamma' trailer launch
The trailer of Maddock Films' Thamma was launched last night, bringing together Ayushmann Khurrana, producer Dinesh Vijan, director Aditya Sarpotdar, writer Niren Bhatt, and Shraddha Kapoor.
The event turned exciting when Shraddha revealed a big surprise about the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.
The 38-year-old actress joked about Dinesh Vijan, saying his name should actually be “Dinesh Vision” because of his creativity.
Then she announced, “Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is bringing Choti Stree as an animated movie! It will release in theatres and be full of fun for kids, families, everyone.”
The Aashiqui 2 star added that it feels amazing to be part of such a unique universe at a time when Indian cinema is experimenting so much.
Dinesh explained further, saying Choti Stree will connect with both kids and adults.
The story, developed by Amar and Niren, will end by shifting from animation to live action and link directly with Stree 3, revealing the backstory of the mysterious Stree. The film is set to arrive six months before Stree 3.
Another reveal at the event was the official logo launch of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Shraddha praised Vijan for expanding his vision with Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and now Thamma.
She said audiences are enjoying rooted, desi stories and no longer need to look at foreign universes when India has its own horror-comedy world.
Thamma stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. It’s slated to release this Diwali.
