Alia Bhatt, who made her debut from 1999 movie Sangharsh as a child star in Bollywood, honored Diljit Dosanjh for being nominated at the International Emmy Awards for the movie Amar Singh Chamkila.

On Saturday, September 27, the 32-year-old actress reposted a snapshot Eternal Sunshine Productions, celebrating Diljit and the crew.

Along with the heartwarming post, she penned, “Congrats @diljitdosanjh and the team behind this gem! Truly shining bright!” 

The post came shortly after the singer-actor was selected for a Best Actor award nod at the 2025 International Emmy Awards, which marked a proud achievement for Punjab and India’s film industry.

In a conversation with the Hindustan Times, the Hass Hass songwriter called that the Emmy nod honours the late singer’s life and work, as he stated, “This is such a big moment, not just for me, but for Amar Singh Chamkila, an artist from Punjab being celebrated on a global stage.”

He further expressed gratitude to director Imtiaz Ali, saying the Emmy recognition honours the late singer’s life and legacy. “I am grateful to Imtiaz Ali Sir for trusting me with this role,” he added.

For the unversed, the biopic storyline revolves around the late Punjabi artist Chamkila's path from a Dalit Sikh household to becoming a cultural icon, the deceased was known for daring lyrics on love, rebellion, and life. Despite his tragic murder at the age of 27, his story still inspires fans around the world.
