How Prabhas 'The Raja Saab' avoids a clash with Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan'
Maker adopts a unique approach to avoid clash of Prabhas and Vijay’s Tamil films
The trailer of Prabhas’s most-awaited fantasy horror, The Raja Saab, was finally launched on Monday evening. The movie was earlier planned for a December release, but now it has been shifted to January 9.
This new date suddenly placed it right against Tamil superstar Vijay’s big release, Jana Nayagan.
But the makers of The Raja Saab have managed to avoid a full clash by adopting a unique approach, delaying only the Tamil version of the film by one day.
Now, while Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam versions will hit screens on January 9, the Tamil dubbed version will arrive on January 10.
Directed by Maruthi, this film is also important for the 45-year-old actor, as it marks his comeback to comedy and full-on mass entertainment after almost a decade.
The hype around the movie is high, which is bankrolled by People Media Factory and features a strong supporting cast including Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab.
Interestingly, the Kannappa star will be seen in a dual role for the first time in his career.
The story is said to revolve around a young man eyeing his ancestral property to come out of financial trouble, but the horror-fantasy treatment is expected to bring surprises.
On the other hand, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is carrying massive expectations as it is believed to be his last movie before entering politics.
Considering the Beast actor’s recent record of only superhits, the makers of The Raja Saab clearly didn’t want to get washed away by the storm.
