Johnny Depp made a rare high-profile appearance on Wednesday as he joined French First Lady Brigitte Macron at Christian Dior’s Paris Fashion Week showcase.
The 62-year-old actor, who has largely stepped away from the spotlight following a turbulent five years marked by legal battles with ex-wife Amber Heard, was photographed chatting with Macron while seated in the front row of the luxury brand’s runway event.
According to Daily Mail, Depp opted for a polished yet relaxed look, pairing a grey blazer with a shirt and blue jeans, accessorized with a grey top hat and dark sunglasses.
Meanwhile, Macron matched the stylish setting in a sharp blue blazer, denim trousers, and a coordinating Lady Dior handbag.
The two appeared in good spirits as they posed together for photos alongside Bernard Arnault, chairman of Dior’s parent company LVMH, as per the outlet.
Depp’s appearance comes as he cautiously re-emerges in the public eye after years of controversy that saw him lose high-profile roles, including his part in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and the Fantastic Beasts films.
While he won a defamation case against Heard in the U.S. in 2022, the actor has openly acknowledged that the fallout from the court battles left him “shunned” by Hollywood, as per the publication.
Macron, meanwhile, has long been accustomed to scrutiny over her relationship with French President Emmanuel Macron, whom she met when he was her teenage student.
Despite public criticism in the early years of their romance, she has often spoken about her admiration for her husband and the resilience of their marriage.
