Celebrating the release of her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift lit up as she gushed about her fiancé Travis Kelce in her BBC Radio 1’s with Greg James.

During the interview, the 35-year-old pop-star revealed that she once feared being truly in love would hinder her songwriting, but quickly came to the realisation that it was not true.

"I used to kind of have this dark fear that if I ever were truly like, happy, and free being myself, and nurtured by a relationship: What happens if the writing just dries up?" she expressed.

Continuing, "What if writing is directly tied to my torment and pain? And it turns out that’s not the case at all, and we just were catching lightning in a bottle with this record."

The Actually Romantic hitmaker shared more of her sentiments in a separate conversation on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton.

When asked by Bunton whether love or heartbreak makes writing easier, Taylor quipped, "Writing songs is one of my favorite things and I did kind of nurture a fear earlier on in my career that if I ever wasn’t truly miserable in my personal life, would I be able to write?"

"Everyone in my life is like, ‘You’ve never been so yourself,’ which is this interesting thing. This person came into my life and everybody is like, ‘You’ve never been so you,’" she expressed.

Further adding, "I think that comes through music. People who fuel you, they fuel every part of you and they make you walk taller and they make you present in a more vibrant way, so hopefully that bleeds into the music too.”

The Last Show Girl released on October 3, 2025, and took the internet by storm.
