Hrithik Roshan has finally broken his silence on the failure of his latest release War 2, saying that everything about the project had seemed perfect.

This action drama is the sequel to the 2019 hit WAR, which starred Hrithik alongside Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. The second part brought together Jr NTR, Kiara Advani, and Hrithik in the lead roles.

The film's trailer had created huge buzz, with fans’ expectations running sky-high as they looked forward to watching two of the biggest stars.

Released on August 14, just ahead of the Independence Day weekend, the film carried massive hype.

However, despite the anticipation, the action thriller failed to meet box office expectations and ultimately became an underperformer.

Now, more than a month later, the Fighter actor has shared his thoughts on its performance, something unusual for him.

Posting some behind-the-scenes photos from the set, the 51-year-old wrote an emotional note: “Playing Kabir was so much fun. So relaxed, knew him so well. It was going to be easy.”

He added, “Finally, a movie I could do like so many others do—keep it simple, play the actor, do your job, and come home. And it was exactly that. I was taken care of so well by my director, Ayan.

It was such a pleasure to have his energy on set. Everything seemed so perfect, like it’s meant to be. A sure shot. No worries, just needed to do my job right. Which of course I did.”

The Kaabil star also hinted at a sense of unease: “But something was lurking behind that presumptuous certainty. A voice I kept shutting out—‘This is too easy… I know this too well.’ Another voice said, ‘I deserve it. Every film doesn’t have to be torture, trauma, and an incessant search for the truth of the moment.”

Made on a massive budget of Rs. 400 crores, War 2 failed to even recover its costs, ending its lifetime collection at Rs. 364 crores, a setback not only for the makers but also for the actors.
