Public tickets Sold Out three weeks ahead of Australia vs India T20 showdown at Melbourne Cricket Ground
Cricket Australia has announced that public ticket allocations for the upcoming T20 International between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground have sold out, more than three weeks before the match.
Scheduled for Friday, October 31, the game is set to draw one of the biggest crowds of the summer, adding to the growing excitement around Australia’s cricket season.
The sell-out follows similar demand seen for 12 days of the Ashes series, where public allocations have also been exhausted.
Tickets for AFL and MCC members are being released this week, while general public sales have already closed after an overwhelming response from fans.
Overall, ticket sales for the BKT Tyres Men’s ODI and T20I Series have crossed 175,000, with only around 30,000 tickets left across the remaining eight matches.
Public tickets for Sydney and Canberra games have already sold out, while the Adelaide and Brisbane fixtures are close to capacity.
Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg said the response reflected the strength of the India-Australia rivalry.
“The huge crowd anticipated for the Melbourne T20I is another strong indicator of the incredible interest in this series,” he said. “To have over 175,000 tickets sold with 13 days until the first ODI in Perth is a phenomenal result.”
Fans can catch the series live on Kayo Sports and Foxtel, with radio coverage available on ABC, Triple M, and SEN.
