Akshay Kumar breaks Salman Khan’s record with 19th ₹100 crore film
Akshay Kumar sets new record, leaves Salman Khan behind
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has reached a milestone at the box office as his recent release, Jolly LLB 3, crossed the Rs 100 crore net mark.
This makes the actor a part of 19 films in the coveted Rs 100 crore club, breaking Salman Khan's decades-old record.
The courtroom comedy-drama, co-starring Arshad Warsi, collected Rs 1 crore on its third Friday, taking its total to over Rs 100 crore in 15 days.
According to trade sources, the film is expected to finish its run at around Rs 110 crore, depending on its performance in the coming weeks.
Kumar’s entry with Jolly LLB 3 further extends his dominance at the box office, with a list of blockbusters that includes Rowdy Rathore, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Mission Mangal, Kesari, and Housefull 4.
His recent releases Sky Force and Housefull 5 also crossed the 100-crore mark earlier this year.
The “100 crore club,” once considered the benchmark of commercial success in the early 2010s, has become a regular feat for big stars with wider releases and rising ticket prices.
But Akshay's steady track record keeps him in the lead, making him the most frequent actor in the category so far.
Salman Khan previously held the top spot, but the Khiladi 786 actor has now overtaken him with this 19th film.
The actor's ability to produce hit films of all genres, be it action dramas, comedies, or social entertainers, has allowed him to dominate the box office.
