Kantara Box Office Collection: Day 1 to Day 4

The first day of Kantara: Chapter 1 which was released on October 2 during the holiday season was a huge success earning over Rs 60 crore in India.

The movie's box office performance is booming easily outperforming Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari from Bollywood by a significant margin. Let's look at the movie's fourth day box office receipts.

Kantara Chapter 1 generated a net revenue of Rs 162.85 crore in India during its first three days of operation.

On Saturday, it made nearly Rs 55 crore roughly 20% more than it did on Friday when it made Rs 46 crore. The momentum of the film continued with Sunday morning shows' impressive ratings.

According to Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 earned Rs 61.00 crore on Sunday, October 5, making a staggering Rs 223.25 crore for its domestic opening weekend.

The movie has continued to draw huge crowds across India with the Kannada version's afternoon and evening shows on Sunday having an incredible 98 to 99 percent occupancy rate in different Karnataka regions.

Weekend Total & Comparisons with Other Films

With almost $4 million in its first three days of release Kantara Chapter 1 also performed well abroad for a film of its size.

On Sunday, the total receipts of several recent high-profile releases including Lokah Chapter 1 (Rs 153 crore), They Call Him OG (Rs 179 crore), and Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 167 crore), were surpassed by Kantara Chapter 1.

Its greatest achievement though, was surpassing the domestic receipts of KGF Chapter 1 which came in at Rs 185 crore. This made it the third highest grossing Kannada film in India, behind KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 860 crore) and the original Kantara (Rs 310 crore). 

Cast of Kantara Movie

Kantara: Chapter 1 is directed and starred by Rishab Shetty. It is distributed by Hombale Films and has Chaluve Gowda and Vijay Kiragandur on board. Rishab had previously won the National Film award for Best Actor for Kantara (2022), which also took home the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment prize. Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah all play important roles in the prequel. Arvind S. Kashyap is the cinematographer, Suresh is the editor, Banglan is the production designer, and B Ajaneesh Loknath is the composer.
