Kantara Chapter 1’s buzz shifts to water bottle gaffe

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 might be ruling the box office, but a blink-and-miss blooper has now taken over the online buzz.

This period drama is earning praise for its strong storytelling and grand visuals, but eagle-eyed netizens spotted a 20-litre plastic water bottle in the Brahmakalasha song, which stormed the internet.

Considering the film is set in the 4th century during the Kadamba dynasty, this view generated a wave of jokes.

Screenshots of this particular scene, shared widely online, reminded many of the infamous Game of Thrones coffee cup mistake. Memes, jokes, and fan theories flooded social media soon after.

One user joked, “I just learned that the Kadambas were the first to use plastic water cans #KantaraChapter1.” Another quipped, “Paid partnership with Bisleri,” poking fun at the accidental product placement.

However, some viewers came forward to defend the team behind the film. One fan wrote, “An honest mistake by the editors, it happens. The film’s effort still shows in every frame.”

Despite the goof, Kantara Chapter 1 continues to win hearts and money at the box office. The prequel to the 2022 blockbuster dives deeper into the origins of the Buta Kola ritual and the mythical land of Kantara.

Directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty, the film stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram.

With stellar reviews, industry support, and a growing fan base, the film is expected to cross ₹400 crore soon, proving that even a water bottle can’t slow down its golden run.
