Maggie Kang, the mastermind behind the iconic animated film KPop Demon Hunters, recently came forward and revealed to BBC that she isn’t keen on the idea of a live-action version of the film.

Talking to the news outlet on October 11, she explained that, "There’s so many elements of the tone and the comedy that are so suited for animation. It’s really hard to imagine these characters in a live-action world."

Adding, "It would feel too grounded. So totally it wouldn’t work for me.”

Since hitting Netflix in late June, KPop Demon Hunters has captivated audiences worldwide, ranking as the streamer’s most-watched film to date.

The film's popularity didn't just stop at its visuals and its story, its soundtrack shattered records, soaring to the top of the Billboard charts and becoming the first ever to feature four songs in the Hot 100’s top 10.

The chart-topping lead single Golden held strong at No. 1 for eight consecutive weeks, while the hit movie's success also extended to theaters as a sing-along version of the film, released in late August, raked in an impressive $18 million during its opening weekend.
